Although the root of this Ministry dates back to 2016, when I started the “I am Damonous” page and YouTube channel, it’s solidification began in the fall last year, as an instrument of hope and protection for God’s people who are being oppressed by the evil mandates of today’s society. I don’t like to get too deep online in shared materials with the exact wording of how I help Church members defend themselves. Some have gone the route of providing sample downloads of “Exemption letters”, but I think this can result in giving businesses a reason to reject them as ‘insincere’ because of similarity.
All that said, I think that “The Temple of God” is a very important Biblical concept to elaborate on, and a key Scripture used in Exemption letters. I’m not sure that even those using 1 Corinthians 3:16–17 or 1 Corinthians 6:15, 19–20 as a defense against medical mandates fully grasp the extent of these Scriptural warnings. In the Bible, the latter verses are mostly used in context with the idea that sexual sin defiles the body, which is the Temple of God. Verse 18 comes straight out to say, “Flee fornication” because it is a sin against one’s own body. Directly follows: “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? [20] For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
As much as one could stop there and say that the entirely of 1 Corinthians 6 is solely about sexual corruption of the body, Verse 9 + 10 identify those who will not inherit the kingdom of God: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, [10] Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” Of interest to the specifics of our discussion this morning is “nor abusers of themselves with mankind” and that “extortioners” will not enter the kingdom of God.
Threading these two related parts of Scripture together, I think there’s a good case here that although the Chapter is largely a prohibition against sexual immorality against the body (which is the temple of the Holy Ghost in us), it is also relevant to today’s mandates which are brought about through extortion (holding one’s job or recreation in jeopardy, if one doesn’t subject themselves to the Insertions). And, it’s certainly an abuse of oneself to consume a medical solution which will reorganize the cell structure that God has made perfect.
Clearly, 1 Corinthians 3:16–17 is much more broad in it’s definition of this same concept: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? [17] If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” Now, earlier in the Chapter, Paul even equates how one’s treatment of the body is like the construction of an actual building: In Verses 9 + 11 “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. [11] For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Perhaps now would be a good time to clarify this all even simpler. Our bodies are the temple of God ALSO because we are members of the body of Christ, as stated in 1 Corinthians 12:20,27: “But now are they many members, yet but one body. [27] Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” Romans 12:1–2 + 4 Elaborate on this concept, that we should consider our “bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,” that we should “be not conformed to this world” “For as we have many members in one body.”
Our bodies are not just the temple of God, each individually, but communally we are the body of Christ. Separately, our bodies should not be defiled by what we allow it to experience, and together we should not be profoundly different in the means in which each member is sanctified and holy. We are not subject to man’s man-made perversions and tools (Insertions, tests or masks), nor his extortions (“Do this, or else!”).
Understand, there are yet MORE Biblical verses (reasons and prohibitions) why today’s strange ‘mandates’ are ungodly and against everything our faith teaches. But, ‘your body is the temple of God where the Holy Spirit dwells’ and ‘you are a member of the body of Christ’ cover quite a bit of ground. –Shall mortal man require a covering upon the temple of God? –Shall mortal man require a stick be inserted in the nose of the body of Christ? –Shall mortal man require forcible penetration and perversion of the same?
God’s Word is clear, even as if written directly for this time, this very day and age: No man can require that which God has forbade, upon His believers whose bodies are more than flesh and blood, but ARE one with Him, in acceptance of His blood shed on the Cross.
